Ch. 9 Discussion

I am really in to military and guns so I decided to do my “timeline” on just that.

Way back in the early 20th century, we were in WWI. The weapons we used back then seem very obsolete compared to what we use today. They were like single action rifles and pistols that had to be reloaded after every shot. Dont get me wrong, they were much more advanced than muzzle and breach loading rifles from the Cival War. They held about five to ten shots in their mag but, like i said, could only be shot one bullet at a time. Nowadays, we have guns that are capable of shooting around 10,000 bullets per minute which is alot. Our artilary weapons have also advanced from practically cannons to Satellite Positioned, Heat Seeking, Death Missiles of Terror. Pretty advanced stuff.

Computers are pretty much what controll all of our “big boy” weapons today. Most of thoso missiles have on board computers that lock them onto there targets. Our military is also based around computers, whether its GPS, communication, weapons, intel,… many things. Back then, they were not in existance, so they didnt really hep them out at all. Ha Ha

Based on what I know, I fell that we are going through reletively the same amout of changes as they did. I think this because we come up with new tools and electronics that help everyday life and make it a little better just like they did. Ours might be way more advanced, but they are created in the same intentions.

I think that there are effects on humans from rapid advance, but they are mostly for the best. I would definatly rather have rapid advance than none at all. New technologies like highly advanced cell phones, laptops,… make it easer than ever to find information and communicate. Distance relationships are very easy with a simple webcam, (you can actually see the other person.)
We need tech advancement to keep superior, i feel.
